Moubak Fritta

On a mission to make West African bean fritters as beloved as falafel.

About Us

Moubak Fritta is a husband-and-wife venture with deep roots in Sahelian cooking and a big dream: to make West African bean fritters as beloved as falafel. Our fritters are made from black-eyed peas and fried to golden perfection — naturally gluten-free, vegan, and full of soul. In West Africa, they’re street food staples. In Seattle, we’re introducing them with bold sauces, vibrant bowls, and craveable sandwiches that celebrate their crispy, comforting goodness. Before moving to Seattle, we ran a West African–New Mexican fusion food cart in Santa Fe. We lost that business during the pandemic — then relocated in 2022 so our son could receive a bone marrow transplant. With God's help, he's now cured of sickle cell disease — and we’re filled with renewed purpose. After five hard years, we’re ready to feed our community again through catering, farmers markets, and pop-ups. Our food is a tribute to where we come from — and to the joy of starting again.
